  • All doors should be fitted by a qualified carpenter.
  • Inspect for correctness, quality and size prior to trimming and fitting. Failure to do so will invalidate any claim.
  • Doors must be stored correctly, on a flat or level surface in a dry, well ventilated area with limited humidity and heat.
  • Doors must be stored inside and never left outside exposed to the elements.
  • Doors should not be kept in areas with newly laid foundations, concrete floors, screeding and plastered walls.
  • Never store doors in areas where there would be extreme changes in temperature, heat (direct sunlight) and humidity, moisture.
  • Doors need to be handled carefully to avoid scratching, marking and other damage.
  • A maximum of 5 mm trim on each sides of the door. Doors must be trimmed equally from both top and bottom.
  • It is very important to select a good sealant which will minimise any swelling and shrinkage.
  • After the manufacturing process the doors will shrink, swell and warp as any wood product would when exposed to dramatic changes in temperature and humidity.
  • All doors need to be sealed on all 6 sides immediately after purchase/ delivery before hanging and after trimming to avoid gain or loss of moisture depending on your local conditions.
Please note that the above is the industry norm and the standard when dealing with any wood products and hollow core doors. Wood products are extremely vulnerable to changes in temperature, heat, humidity, and moisture, this needs to be taken into consideration when storing and handling your doors. Any claims are strictly dependant on whether or not the above procedures are complied with.
